Enrichment and Acceleration Within Content Areas
What does it take to create learning experiences that meaningfully challenge high-ability students in specific content areas? Where do common instructional myths and habits unintentionally limit depth, curiosity, and growth? How can we design curriculum and instruction to advance and enrich student learning with authentic engagement? Join us for the virtual Taste of Confratute on Wednesday, March 25, for a sampling of considerations and approaches for accelerating and enriching learning in different content areas. We begin with a keynote by Dr. Kathy Gavin focused on curriculum and instruction in mathematics for talented elementary learners, followed by breakouts diving into a wide range of disciplines. Across all sessions, we’ll unpack persistent misconceptions, consider the benefits and trade-offs of various programming options, and examine research-aligned approaches that promote challenge, complexity, and deep thinking across learning contexts. You’ll leave with practical tools, fresh insight, and renewed clarity about intentional approaches to elevate learning for high-ability students.
